I would LOVE it if the reveal of the voiceover guy was a grownup version of Mateo, who's doing a reading of his fictionalized novel of how his parents met, fell in love and raised him (and all his siblings) in a blended family.

Well, I think they're going through their stages of hurt over what the creator said in this interview with TVLine.
"BTW, I never ever saw pilot Richie again. Do you remember his swagger and the way he approached the doctor? Where did that go?"
I watched all of the webseries and the new episode this weekend. I actually like what the creators have produced. IMO - They seemed to have been totally baked during their "Maintenance" taping of the intros to all their web episodes.
I'm glad that you brought up the fact that Patrick left Kevin. I think that was one of the very many things that had an effect on why he went off on Patrick so badly. It's seen as another form of rejection and Patrick did it to Kevin twice. The first time was when Kevin showed up at Esta Noche, trying to explain to…
Well, when he told Patrick that he thanked him for "fucking up his relationship with Jon" that was a total manipulation tactic. Kevin wanted his relationship with Jon to end and he used Patrick as a means to get out of it, while not having to be alone.
Yes, it was the same jacket that Richie wore when he first met Patrick.
Patrick was also wearing the jacket, when he and Richie had that amazing date in the stand-alone "Looking for the Future" episode from season one.
"but the camera follows Patrick, who goes directly to Richie and express how happy he is, even if this is not rational he's happy, happy, in a quite liberatory way. It was like an orgasm: there's the anticipation, the building and then the explosion of happiness (the feels I felt, guys).
I just think he is hurt and is speaking to Patrick in a way that's incredibly defensive. He wants to maximize Patrick's guilt/regret, maybe.
"I saw a comment on Twitter arguing that Looking was "gleefully murdered" by gay men who had so many problems with the show they give it "toxic buzz" that HBO couldn't ignore. Does anyone else feel this way?"
"Because there was a culture war, and we won. And these 20-somethings show just how total that victory was."
"As we see Patrick in the movie, he is much happier with himself, ut that longing has not gone away. When the opportunity finally arises to have that with someone - Richie - I don't think it is crazy at all for him to grab it with both hands. He is lucky enough to be intelligent, educated and in possession of…
Patrick was always the trigger aka temptation for Richie and that's probably why he stayed with Brady for so long. Even with Patrick being in Denver, if he had made attempts to contact Richie, I don't think he we would have been able to say no to him, if he wasn't involved with Brady.
Oh please. It was difficult to get up at my normal time on Mondays during the seasons of Looking. Especially when an episode was based on the Patrick and Richie relationship. Those review responses were amazing.
That's the other thing I'm shivering in anticipation for early Sunday morning. The AVClub recaps were a highlight for me on Monday mornings.
Good response! !
I don't know exactly how "Looking" was initially tagged as "the gay Girls", because it's so the opposite. Was someone in the PR house of HBO at fault for that transgression or was it some other critic that couldn't come up with anything else during that time frame?
My favorite episodes of the series, were based around the intimate moments between Patrick and Richie. It felt like an extended version and remake of "Weekend" and I never found the series to be "boring".
Kirby is gorgeous. There were moments that I felt bad for finding him absolutely gorgeous. That first image of him as a young man: Goodness Gracious.
"The scene where Chicken George shoots Frederick is admittedly one of my favorite tv scene of the year."
