Richie isn't (in my opinion) isn't being written as the "magical ethnic" nor is his character being disrespected.

Straight commentator here:
Is cricket above rugby and football, in regards to the Britis class system?
"Richie should be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine."
Which is why I loved that Agustin told him about going to see Richie to apologize to him and why he told Patrick, that he could do whatever he wanted.
I don't feel that Richie's being "tacked on" to this season. He's not going to allow himself to be around Patrick willingly, which makes sense as to why he's not returning any of his calls.
Patrick's going to keep fooling himself, until the crap hits the fan.
Kevin chose to bottom that night, in order to appease Patrick.
Thanks for the explanation about the class differences between footie and rugby.
There is always that one commentator, who insists on posting how much they really don't like the show and will continue to watch the show, that they don't like. All.The.Time.
I don't see Richie as "saintly".
"There's no other reason why not keeping secrecy would mean that the affair would have to end. "I don't want this to end" - "so we must not tell John, because if John finds out, I will choose him over you" - is the unspoken implication, but it really doesn't have to be made explicit to be obvious."
I don't think it's easy to forget at all.
Agustin is a mess, but he (just like Kevin) has moments of humanity.
I still think that may happen in the next couple of episodes. Patrick will not admit that truth to Richie, so he's going to find out from somebody else.
Kevin's not going to stop the situation, when he can continue to still have Patrick whenever he wants AND to still sleep at night with Jon.
But, Patrick is choosing to not really listen to what Kevin says to him. The "I don't knows" aren't heard. It's the "I can't think straight when you're around me, don't come in here and flirt with me, you drive me crazy" spiel is what Patrick focuses on.
"…Patrick will likely go the Ross route and plead innocence because they "were on a break" and Richie, hopefully, will finally clock him so hard his head will finally get screwed on straight."
It would be fantastic if Tony, had a mid-life coming out and his new boyfriend are friends with Patrick's folks!
Well, Richie forgave Patrick twice for his previous missteps with him, because he wanted to give him (and them) a chance.
