they swap out the big Brembos for standard focus front brakes.

Leave the DC area. I am also from the DC area and I have a Ford Dealership a mile from my house in Sterling and they of course have a huge markup on theirs. I did a quick autotrader search and found one 140 something miles away in PA at MSRP. Went and drove it and bought it the next day at MSRP with no haggling.
only marginally more expensive to insure than our outgoing Focus ST. I was shocked.
“soften the suspension” is also really suggestive. the system is just a bi-model system. in normal, sport and drift the dampers are “soft” and only in track are they “stiff”
but believe me it’s more like “stiff” and “i broke my back”
sad part is that it’s a 3v 4.6 with a supercharger that makes less horsepower than a new Coyote.
I’ll be the first to say it, aurally, the coyote sounds worlds better.
as an owner I’ll absolutely agree, it’s a firm ride, not going as far as calling it “stiff” unless i’m in track mode. you get used to it quickly. the fact that it’s very firm but the chassis is also communicative means that the car is talking to you and you know what it’s saying.
how? i walked into my local dealership and bought my RS right there at sticker for 42k. I’ll likely also be getting an M2 in my future, but I’ll also need 10 more grand to do it.
disagree. had an ST modded it to hell and sold it for the RS. The ST is a good car, but modding it is required to make it feel anything like the RS.
These cars were so killer in their time. My old ‘05 was epic.
four foglights? no, 97-02 cars just had bright ass daytime running lights.
2.0, not 2.3
I feel your pain, I have a ‘16 Mustang GT and ‘16 Focus RS and i have the “old” new Sync 3 as well without carplay.
I can do better... (my car)
FOST are already getting ruined now brand new, even.
Agreed. I was looking for one a year ago before settling on buying a ‘16 Mustang GT, and for me it was no bueno to pay 19k for a ‘06. I had one new in 2005, and it felt wrong paying 10k less for another one than my new one cost over a decade later.
Koon’s Ford is also my local dealer/rip off artist. I live 1/4 mile from their dealership and couldn’t get them to play with me on a GT350 at MSRP or an RS at MSRP. Found my RS 2.5 hours away in central PA at MSRP and settled for a GT Performance Pack which I then converted to a Roush RS2 post title.
I really want to know which dealership in PA because I drove from Washington DC to nearly Altoona (VA to MD to PA to cow country PA) and just brought home a ‘16 RS at MSRP with zero haggling at all. Meanwhile the Ford dealership that is literally 1/4 mile from my house is still sitting on 20k markups on 2016 GT350's,…
you had me at Probe RS
they all also clearly pulled over so he could do his little trick.
