I know it’s kind of off topic these days, but I’m going to talk about his work. You should watch his stand up on Netflix, Too Real, it’s really great.
“I want to talk about these five women. FIVE. You got that? Five of them. Everything they said? Totally happened. That’s right. I jacked off on them. Jacked it. Like boosh. Really bad. Like one of the Ghostbusters shooting his proton pack all over their faces. So terrible. And do you want to know what the worst part…
No argument, although I’m not grading on a curve here. There is one question, “Did you sexually assault another person?” and this shit is fucking pass/fail.
Hats off to the NYT and the woman to came forward for producing a great piece of journalism.
Totally agreed. A sincere apology should only be a start as far as penance is concerned.
Agree. It is a SINCERE apology. Not the usual “I’m sorry if someone was offended...” which basically is a back-handed non-apology that continues to blame the victim.
I think the credit he gets is “he didn’t make it worse.”
Man, that horse you are riding on desperately needs some water.
I completely agree. As much as I’d like to believe everything he says here, actions cannot be undone merely by words. Let’s see if he can be a better father, human, and advocate of treating women properly going forward (for a very long time), but until then he’s no better than he was yesterday.
I’m going to hell for this:
This is the best possible statement he could release, in that he’s still just as much a piece of shit as he was yesterday. Which is a lot, but at the very least he didn’t go “oh they’re lying” or “I was drunk...and now I’m gay!”
Why do people think this? Who has ever gone to prison for sexual harassment?
I know certain people are bashing you mercilessly Xanderpuss, but I get where you’re comments were coming from. As an abuse survivor myself, I still want proof, or official accusations before I go after someone - or assume they’re guilty because they “seem” sketchy. Like you said, now that people have come forward, I…
We just fired an asshole from where I work for sexual harassment & my daughter was harassed at her job a few months ago. Some men can not accept NO as an answer when it comes to their own sexual gratification & they should be vilified always and prosecuted when necessary.
If I’m reading at least the joint claim from two accusers right, he asked for permission but did not actually wait for or seem to care about consent. He asked and then did it anyway.
And Ms. Rife knows it. From a newswire she wrote in September:
One of the big accomplishments of the MCU has been to make Cap compelling *because* he’s just decent.
Maybe I am better off not watching the CA movies, because as someone who has only seen Avengers and a disparte scant selection of other Marvel projects Chris Evans was the saving grace of the Avengers and one the actors who helped elevate the comic book movie blockbuster. Snowpiercer is probably one of the most…
That portal was being studied by top men (To borrow from another movie released in the 80s.)
