The original stated intent was to give Kara someone to mentor. Now that she's sort of coming into her own as a superhero it's time for her to pass on what she's learned, the way J'onn did with her last season. Unfortunately, that didn't work well or the writers lost track.

Yet another reason I was opposed to the addition of M'gann and Mon-El, because every added character dilutes the show. I'm firmly of the opinion that each episode needs a Supergirl story, a Kara story, and a supporting character (Alex, Winn, J'onn, James, etc.) story.

The original Mon-El story had him sent to the Phantom Zone so he wouldn't die from the effects of lead. He spent 1000 years there until there was a cure and he was able to join the Legion of Superheroes. We've seen a Legion ring in the Fortress of Solitude so we know they'll exist eventually in this timeline.

I was hoping Lena would simply hire Kara, say for her PR department, and we'd get the Cat Grant substitute and Kara would have a civilian life again.

Lena doesn't have to be evil to have an agenda. I do wonder what's up with her making alien detectors on the one hand because "people have a right to know" and being cool with Supergirl on the other.

It would be interesting. AFAIK, Dev-Em appeared exactly once in Adventure Comics so he's obscure enough that nobody would gripe too much about messing with canon.

I also know couples where he does the cooking and other household stuff. For that matter, I'm in charge of laundry in our house myself.
There have been episodes when Kara didn't kick ass first, most of them in Season 1. Her first response to Livewire, for example, was "Let me help you." Same with the train bomber.

Thank you. Huge Monroe and Rosalee shipper here. Gonna miss the show. One episode left. :-(

There's never really been a decent explanation for how/why Krypton blew up. Some bafflegab about "ecology" but nothing more. Anyway, Krypton is completely gone while Daxam needs a lot of work but it can be salvaged. Not exactly the same thing.

No they weren't. Kara's father created a last-resort doomsday weapon to be used if Krypton were attacked, similar to the nukes the US and a number of other not-exactly-terrible countries have today. There was never an indication they would use it unless there were extraordinary circumstances.

How many times, not just on these shows but in general, has there been a huge buildup and then nothing? The first season of Star Trek Next Generation was awful that way.

Except "El" doesn't seem to be the family name. Dad's name is "Lar Gand," which is Mon-El's real name in the comics. Mom doesn't even seem to have a last name.

Sadly, that may well be true. Her grabbing pot-stickers and stuffing them in her mouth at Lena's fundraiser was a bit much. And people used to call Mon-El uncivilized.

No, Kara isn't a faker, Melissa Benoist is human. She can't just gobble food the way Kara would, take after take. She'd get seriously sick, not to mention gain a ton of weight.

You may be right. I don't know how things were between her and her IRL husband when he appeared on the show but he didn't stick around. Then again, he didn't catch on with fans like Wood, and he had a specific arc of episodes. I've been saying all along that there are valid reasons Mon-El shouldn't be around beyond

Based on the preview for next episode, I'm guessing yes, she'll probably be back at CatCo. It looks like the ep. revolves around someone stumbling on her secret identity and tipping off Snapper. There are two reasons to bring him back: Either the CatCo side of things isn't going away or it's a way to give it closure.

Okay, a few things. First, I thought someone somewhere said something about Kara and Mon-El treating each other as equals but Kara has a chance to to into action with Mon-El and she literally flies solo and leaves him to do laundry. Is he the "girl" now? Second, Kara's answer to every problem is to kick ass? Not to,

It was okay. It got me to watch The Flash when I'm not a fan of that show. The only DC shows I watch are Supergirl and Powerless, and I'm not too sure about Powerless. Most of the musical numbers were at least good. I especially liked “More I Cannot Wish You” by the three dads and Barry's rendition of “Runnin’ Home To

It's a good one, worth finding and reading.

Thanks. Kara could have mentioned Superman during the original crossover but then she said Barry did a perfect impression of him and they've never met. Did she show Barry video of Superman? This is just clumsy writing.
