Absolutely, so odd that they were the only two to check out the building. Agreed, they could still have achieved the emotional discovery scene without insulting our willing suspension of disbelief.

I could see it both ways, Charlie Hebdo or the post-editing dialogue replacement… but I have a mind to think it might be the ADR, used in the same vein of the "lampshading" the reviewer mentioned as a heavily featured device this episode. This terrorist plot-line has been almost uncomfortable in its uncanny…
According to this, these injections are pretty effective and sarin gas is apparently really hard to use as warfare. I think it's safe to say Quinn is going to pull through!
Wha? B-Minus! For me, and maybe this is uniquely personal to me, first and foremost I want my TV shows to entertain me and make me root for the characters. This episode did just that… Solid A for sure.
I feel like it's safe to say Eli is a classy dame, too!
Totally, her "you're either with me or against me" deal is such a boring caricature of journalists.
I seem to remember her implying to Jonas that she's pretty good in the sac when she's off her meds!
Totally, her character seems all over the place; is it really plausible that a woman we're to believe has been so effective in her deep infiltration would come apart at the seams like this? And not just speaking of her panic attack in this episode, but ever since it was revealed she's a double agent, and with that…
It does seem pretty roundabout, but my guess is the writers' justification is that the Russians didn't want to kill Carrie directly, lest it be more easily traced back to them… and their motive, which is the core mystery of the season.
"But we’re halfway through the season and Saul and Carrie still haven’t gotten any closer to a reconciliation."
Agreed! Maybe they're understaffed and charged with a kind of peer-editing / self-editing process… but can't they at least ask Mom to take a quick look?
I noticed that, too, but I have to say I came around to the idea that if he'd corrected that or protested it in any way, it would have seemed too obvious a conversation piece; both from the writers and from Quinn. Lose-lose.
