Isn't it supposed to take place somewhere in Missouri? I've never been to Missouri, though, and my knowledge of their economy is pretty limited.

"Sweet Talk Sweet Talk" is the absolute best.

As someone who loves both Myriad Harbour and Together, I have no idea how to vote on your comment…

I don't even know if I would agree with that. Together might be one of my favourite albums of all time.

Myriad Harbour for me.

This rule definitely applies to Parks and Rec.

Just got to say that I am honored and amazed to have Lady Murasaki's great protagonist commenting on this discussion of naturalistic vs not-naturalistic writing style. Great synergy.

Or synergistic.

I love Call the Doctor—especially Anonymous, Stay Where You Are, and Good Things. I think the fact that Corin took operatic vocal lessons between CTD and DMO really helped to bring the sound together, though.

Yeah, once you get into them, they REALLY pull you in. That was me back in 2007.

It was the first album of theirs that I heard—I had gotten Sleater-Kinney recommendations from a few people here and there, and so I was checking them out on iTunes. I think "You're No Rock and Roll Fun" was their most popular song on there, so I bought that album, and then "Modern Girl" also caught my eye so I bought

Hot Rock is absolutely my favourite as well, with "One Song For You" as my favourite song.

It has some potential. "Don't Think You Wanna" and "The Day I Went Away" both work well, I think. There's a few others that sound like average riot grrrl songs. It's not my favourite, but I don't dislike it.

Isn't Sample just a nickname? Isn't her real name like "Jessa Hannah Poem Sackler [Laird's last name]?" or something?

It made sense to me. She cares about Bertie, and stuck around with Randy either to:
1. Figure out what his deal was, and whether he was actually a decent dude
2. Confront him about whether he was using Bertie
3. Simply make Bertie happy by going along with her plan

"Season one"

I only wish Freaks and Geeks had gotten two seasons…

I was just thinking about the first love thing, too…I wonder if this connects to Jane's religious beliefs, which haven't really been mentioned lately?

Did anyone else notice how the narrator never came back around to the "first man" who Jane loved? He said "to be continued"…and that was that. I assumed he meant God/Jesus, but then that got me thinking…we haven't seen as much about Jane's religious beliefs since the time jump—did she start to question her faith when

That about nails it.
I still love the show…and I've always leaned more toward the Rafael side of things. But I know how hard it can be when a character I like is killed off on a show I care about (Downton Abbey, How to Get Away With Murder, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), so I commiserate, even though I never was a fan of
