Excellent analysis of Jeremy. He makes my skin crawl.

I suppose he must have been the first time he and Rachel hooked up; otherwise why would she have continued carrying a torch for him?

I really agree with you on a lot of this, and I'm a latecomer to this show and these reviews, but:
a. You've said these same things on several comment threads, and it's a bit tiring, because:
b. what's wrong with the name Shamiqua? Is it any objectively stranger than "Pepper?" Yes, it's very "ethnic," very

And they already have two videos worth of revenge porn, thanks to Rachel's terrible former roommate and Quinn…

That's so perfect.

I really wanted to know more about Grace. What was with her claustrophobia, for instance? What were the bad things that had happened to her, that she alluded to but never expanded on? We got these tantalizing hints about the real her, but never any follow-up. Maybe she'll come back for season 2?

how often does somebody talented with a strong ethnic PoV get downticked for it
Alas, poor Korto.

Yeah, she is a character I'm really hoping will come back next season, even though I have no idea how they'd do it.

I just remembered who Arielle Kebbel was. Dean's post-and-pre-Rory girlfriend/wife on Gilmore Girls.

Yep. I'm on the fence about the state of Rachel's moral caliber, but I have absolutely no qualms about Louise's.

Ah, Terribly Vision Impaired Desert Plant over here couldn't tell that that's what the photo was of. Interesting.

It sounds a lot like the plot to Shine by Lauren Myracle.

YES.
That is all.

"Same Boy You've Always Known" is another favorite from that album.

I wish some of the later-season ER characters were on this list—Neela, Ray, Sam, Luka…

She's Armenian.

Have you seen the ER homage episode? In season 8, Drs. Kovac, Lewis, and Carter; Abby (when she was still a nurse); and Gallant (when he was still a med student), attend an all-day Saturday sexual-harassment seminar that their instructor is massively late to because of weather. One of the better episodes of ER in

As one of my favorite (high school) teachers used to say: "You have a headache, and I have a headache, but I don't know your pain."
As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "We boil at different degrees."

Yep. They may or may not be poor…but they blame everything that they aren't doing with their lives on even poorer people.

Here's some stuff I'm reading/recently finished:
Independent People by Halldor Laxness. It's an "epic" set in Iceland around WWI, about an extremely stubborn farmer who's determined to not rely on anyone else, even if that destroys him. It's around 500 pages long, and certain parts go into a lot of complicated detail
