"Combat Rock" is great, as are the title track, "Oh," "The Remainder," and "Light Rail Coyote." ("The Remainder" was particularly helpful when going through my worst breakup ever, along with some of "Call the Doctor's" songs.) And "Far Away" is pretty remarkably powerful—I'm not normally a 9/11 sentimentalist, but

I actually love "Male Model," mostly because the energy of it works so well to get me into the right zone whenever I need to do something like…give a speech, or act, or anything of the sort. And All Hands was the first SK album I bought.

My favorites on "Call the Doctor": tie between "Stay Where You Are," "Good Things," and "Taking Me Home."
Favorite album: almost certainly The Hot Rock (I think it's their most consistent).

Plus he and Ron seemed to get along well, and it would be interesting if Ron made a man-friend who had similar interests as far as woodworking went but was far more cheery.

I really hope Keegan-Michael Key sticks around at least as a recurring character. He and Retta showed pretty amazing chemistry just in that little conversation about "the red thing."

Rock and roll.

I LOVE "In Accordance to Natural Law." It's a perfect companion to "I Like Fucking" since they both critique the pervasive idea in the wider society at the time that Riot Grrrl was anti-male.

Yeah, she did the "nobody likes you, everyone left you, they're all out without you, having fun" intro to "Letterbomb" on American Idiot.

I see what you did there….

Was she that, though? She always seemed pretty conflicted about how others perceived her, and she didn't want to be the leader of Riot Grrrl. And if she was, how does getting married to her longtime partner (nearly 10 years after Bikini Kill's last album was released) undermine anything she sang about?

She's a musician. So's Adam. It's not at all unusual for celebrities in the same field to form relationships, and Kim Gordon was the one who played matchmaker when they were all touring together. It's a pretty sweet story, really.

She could have, yeah, but the way the story was told it seem as though Kathleen would have assumed he knew something about the band, their shows, etc—"girls to the front" was always part of the Riot Grrrl culture.

Agreed here, Michael. She wanted her concerts to be safe for her female fans, as well as for herself. That didn't mean she hates men.

Suck My Left One and Alien She are great; I'm not a huge fan of Reject All American, though.
Other great songs: Strawberry Julius, Lil Red, False Start.

YES. Rebel Girl's their go-to song, the one everyone thinks of when they think of them, if they think of anything. And I loved it when I first heard it, I've just heard it too much now. Plus maybe I prefer music with some pathos and rage in it, which Rebel Girl kind of forgoes in favor of happiness and friendship

The writer probably meant "Rebel Girl," but…I disagree. My top five, in no particular order:
1. Feels Blind
2. I Like Fucking
3. RIP
4. For Tammy Rae
5. I Hate Danger

Cool that Weeks is Salvadoran, and I have no problem with the idea that Jeremy speaks Spanish. I have a problem that he doesn't use this skill until the very end of the episode when it could've done so much good the entire time.

Same here. At the end of their break-up/make-up/sing plotline, I just thought: "so that's it? We're not going to address the fact that Sam asked rude questions about her friend's name, touched her friend's hair without asking, and then asked if it was real or a wig?" And then his abruptly saying "I'm not gay"

Yeah, playing against stereotypes is generally something I'd be rooting for, but have there been any queer characters since April and her boyfriend broke up in season 2? Pawnee's not as diverse as I wish it were.

The adaptation of La Boheme into Rent certainly made use of this.
