I liked it, because the weird commercials and some of Britta's line delivery were just that bizarrely awesome, but I didn't love it due to my unfamiliarity with GI Joe.
I dislike it when Mindy's portrayed as being a bit dumb. She watches movies all the time, surely some of them include eulogies she could have cribbed from if she didn't know what to say. She's a doctor, she's smart, and she needs to be empathetic with her patients. This felt like a misstep. I could understand some…
Yeah, I identify as bi, because that was the term I was introduced to first and most people know what it means, but pan would be just as accurate. I have had a threesome experience that didn't end well. I therefore turned down a subsequent offer for one. It was 100% to avoid drama and potential hurt feelings.
Doug's with Claire, Dave's with Kath (and they're the most high-strung, anxious, demanding pair on the show), but yeah.
It was the opposite for me, but I went to a fairly small college. I could hole up in my dorm all day long and avoid people when I wasn't in classes, I didn't have to deal with crowds of people clogging hallways in the 4-minute period between classes, I could eat in the dining hall or in my room or at a restaurant…

Yeah, once they got outside it kind of…turned into something else and I wasn't sure what to make of it.
The house-sitting couple was Bryce and Lisa; the farm people were Peter and Nance.
I think that would only work if he was trying on jackboots…
James Tiberius Harper!
James Tiberius Harper!
I thought it worked well as an absurdist play on the kind of dudes who think they know more about music than female musicians do—something Brownstein might have dealt with a few times in her life.
Iris and Spike (this episode, the wedding episode in season 2)
Doug and Claire (Battlestar Galactica, joint accounts)
Bryce and Lisa (Put a Bird on It, We Can Pickle That)
Dave and Kath (rafting, 15-minute parking spot, get the gear)
Jamie and Trish (Portland Pet Haven)
Grover's parents from the Season 2 preschool…
Aww. It's a Saab. Of course it has headlight wipers.
Hitila (Tequila).
I know I'm way-late, but having not seen future seasons yet, why was Donovan doomed as soon as he set eyes on CJ?
Shrek came out in the summer of 2001, this aired in May 2002, so it was post-Shrek, though not by much. I do agree that it was used well here, and that its overuse since has become a detriment.
Doesn't surprise me. So much of Panem is based on ancient Rome.
It's basically a more extreme version of the party scene in Catching Fire (when Katniss and Peeta see Capitol citizens taking emetics to make themselves vomit in order to eat more while people in the districts are starving).
