im curious as to what this is

see, the tightness didn't work for me at all. every moment in the episode is dedicated to pushing the plot forward - there's not quite enough time to ruminate on what this means for the characters. all we understand is that in this bleaker universe, the relationships between the characters on the bridge - particularly

im not sure i would have been a huge fan of that, either, though. it seems to me like a crossover with that premise would dissappoint fans of TNG (not really picard), as well as disappointing fans of TOS (depressing ending for the enterprise).

also worth noting is that letting people like yiannopoulos use twitter effectively shuts other people (like jones) off the service. his harrassment campaigns are a much larger threat to free speech in general than twitter bans are ever going to be.

having just watched it for the first time now, it certainly did seem like the episode could have used a few extra scenes worth of breathing room. it goes through plot at a fair clip.

he just turns up! out of no-where! and then he's gone!

i see your reasoning. personally i just felt like McKinnon was hitting that Bill Murray out-of-control vibe harder than McCarthy was - to me, McCarthy seemed to be channeling Akroyd, and Wiig seemed to be channel Ramis.

i was getting a "bill murray if he had ernie hudson levels of stuff to do" vibe

i think there's a bust of him in the background at the university at the start of the movie (through the door when wiig is talking to the dean or whatever)

i have just this week begun to read the comics for the first time - i've gotten through the first few issues, more or less the same ground that the show has covered.

'some like it hot' has remarkably progressive gender politics, to be honest.

it wouldn't be a legitimate criticism if there were a statistically appropriate number of black women writing comics for Marvel/DC. but there aren't.

do you think they set this white-ass movie on a former plantation on purpose or what

you can't poof into a big cloud of smoke and travel to hell just by wanting it really badly, though
