megan fox spent a lot of money on plastic surgery in order to turn herself into the ideal woman of 2006. that's had the effect that in 2016 she sticks out as dated design. she looks like an original generation iphone.

the number one best metric to use to judge if the a person you're arguing with has no actual idea of the value of religion (atheist or believer) is to check if their arguments for or against religious belief are predicated on a view of god as a physical being who does shit and actually exists in a place
i would be almost certain that the series is faithful in adapting that particular plot point. making a preacher TV show and NOT making it about critiquing religion would seem to be a pointless endeavor.
i was wavering in and out on the show's theology, but i think that as of the end of this episode i'm relatively confident that the show will handle the religious stuff with some deftness and complexity. initially, it seemed like there were a lot of times during this episode where jesse wasn't quite behaving like…
if you were going to pick one island survivor to take the incredibly volatile dynamite out of the box, you'd think you'd pick the spinal surgeon over the old dude who has weird spiritual visions, wouldn't you
a key component of ennis' work is this tension between his characters' sincere idealism and the disappointing truth that [in ennis' view, i guess?] most human beings (exaggerated for comic effect, of course)
so what's your point
surely they'll just need hopkins in to do scenes where loki is pretending to be him, right?
why does their bias need to be conscious for it to be bad
yeah, i mean, i get that. im not sure this is so principled, though - it's literally just an inability to engage. im sure if they were able to get their heads around this stuff, they would.
yeah, maybe "baby boomer attitude" would cover it
i think it's less about being decrepit and more about just being past the point where you're willing to integrate technology into literally every part of your daily life.
well, for the text thing, i am thinking of an experience i a few years ago, with someone whose age i didn't know exactly, so you might be right.
my instinct is that it is a baby boomer perspective that thinks "im covering your minimum wage paycheck" justifies being deliberately abrasive and difficult, but it's hard to tell if it's a generational thing or if it's just emotional distance from shitty minimum wage jobs
i have experienced this happening first hand, you would be amazed
what is it about clients that makes them inherently untolerable, do you think
maybe it's just me, but "fifty year olds need to stop whining about how learning to text is the end of the world for them" is far more sympathetic a stance than "person in customer service job shouldn't expect clients to be tolerable"

the fact that disney had to spin off disney infinity and some other stuff in order to make their books balance in a year when they had Avengers 2 and Star Wars coming out just completely baffled me
it might be that it's two am and im tipsy, but, why was she expelled? why did you do her maths problems? im so confused
