Help me remember here, didn't Ecbert have the nobles imprisoned for killing the settlers? Why go so far as blaming it on the nobles and imprisoning them and then owning up to it when Ragnar showed up? Why wouldn't he just continue on and say the nobles did it and he's really sorry it happened but he took care of them?

There's a podcast called The Watching Dead that's way better than the show itself.

It looks like there were early writings condemning suicide as a mortal sin but the church didn't take a stance on it until the 16th century.
I stand corrected.

Three sports. He's fucking up golf now, too.

I couldn't give a fuck less about either team but damn I want to see Goodell have to hand Brady a trophy and preferably tell him he won a Buick for being SB MVP, too.

It's a brilliant plan. Rick was introduced to Negan, Koral and Daryl have gone to his house, it's only a matter of time until it blows up and burns to the ground.

Quorl!!!!!!!!!

As long as we get another sweet montage of everyone smiling and nodding, I'll be a happy woman.

Floki already changed drastically, even his trademark eyeliner was gone when he told Bjorn he was leaving.

I thought he went into the bath and that Bjorn was going to come back in and drown him. I don't think a devout Catholic would've committed suicide but would've been a willing martyr, like the bishop.

I wonder why they didn't pursue this, seeing as Aella's daughter was introduced a couple episodes ago. Ubbe and Hvitserk are with Margaret, Ivar can't really marry anyone in the full sense, so having the princess marry Sigurd would make sense from the Vikings POV if they wanted a legit claim to English land, and

Billy Ray Lothbrook had to go.

Yeah, he's all over the place. I don't know if we should blame direction or if it's his idea but imitating Ragnar isn't working for him.

It looks like Floki laundered her dress, too. Not a single drop of blood from her mortal wound was to be found.

I'm going to miss these conversations and observations during this off season, I hope to see your posts when the series starts back because a lot of you bring a historical perspective and knowledge that I don't possess and I've learned a lot from your posts. This is usually a thought provoking and interesting comments

I don't know who the star of the show is. Who's the main character that all the others are attached to or affected by? I keep seeing people say Ivar but I don't think he's anything more than just another brother. Is Bjorn supposed to be the main guy? Lagertha? I think there are a bunch of supporting characters but not

I think we just have to accept that Hirst isn't staying true to the sagas or historical record. Some of it doesn't bother me, like Yidu and her drugs, because who's to say what was going on. And if the beserkers were doing a cocaine-like plant then perhaps a Chinese slave would've had opiates. Other liberties bother

Contributed to. I'm pretty certain that an addict isn't the best person to plan an invasion of a fortified city or to command an army.

I thought that was Judith at first, too. I thought we got a time jump and we were seeing Aethelwulf's funeral and Alfred and The Other One would be grown.

I don't understand the network's choices either because a cliffhanger death shouldn't be wrapped up for one audience and left unresolved for another. That's sloppy.
