And it was great how they eventually balanced Tracy with Dotcom (a persecuted intellectual and a great supercut calls him) and Grizz (a gentle giant.)

It is getting goofier as it goes along (I'm six in). Carol Kane is a freakin' hoot and a half.

30 Rock had heart, but Football in the Groin had a football in the groin.

That was pretty much my guess the first time I saw the character of Xan.

I've only watched the first six episodes, but it seems quite probable that Xanthippe will come around to be at least moderately friendly with Kimmy.

"You weren't supposed to use the poop!"

She did kind of explains it in "Kimmy Goes Outside!" when she decides, rather impulsively, to stay in New York because she doesn't want to go back home and always be known as "The Mole Girl." She didn't really think such an idea through. Also she is clearly in denial about some things in her past, and I would only

Hey, they have a 99!

I thought the idea was that the IMDB community for whatever reason adopted The Shawshank Redemption as its mascot and somehow that "tradition" stuck. My theory is that the growing popularity of the film (which came from repeated showing on cable) and the growth of imdb coincided, so the ranking probably was sincere at

"Damnit, Johnny! You know I love my big beef and cheddar!"

"Socially inept an baby crazy. I feel like I'm in a beer commercial."

She would've been fun to see again, yes. There were a few people it would've been nice to see again like Stewart (Peter Dinklage), Bianca (Isabella Rossellini), Cat (Bebe Wood), or Rosemary (Carrie Fischer.) But they brought back so many other people (like Elaine Stritch, Steve Buscemi, John Hamm, Susan Sarandon,

Ha! Well observed.

Calm down, Gerald. I don't think they'll be doing write-ups for the Not the Nine O'Clock News anytime soon.

I never knew The Black and White Minstrel Show was a thing. After looking it up on Wikipedia, I found that even though it was cancelled in 1978, they continued with the very popular live shows until 1987. So it actually was current at the time of this episode. Fascinating, to put it mildly.

I really doubt Kanye West knows what "Jim Crow" actually means other than a racial signifier to throw out when he isn't getting his way.

My all-time favorite British put-down will always be the word "Git." I don't know what it is about that word; maybe it's compactness or the way it spits out of the mouth, but it makes me laugh every time.

I loved the full on silliness of the episode. They obviously had a lot of fun doing this one. I loved that Josh, Cobie, and Allyson played the mentors, I love seeing some of Barney's old hookups (from what I could tell it was Nora, Stacy Keibler, Shannon, Crazy Meg, Lily's friend who Barney stole from Ted, and the old

Hard to believe Stuart didn't have a copy of "The Dark Knight Returns" #1. Not amazingly expensive. Around $70 in the 7.0-8.0 range. Of course Bernadette could buy a much cheaper second of third printing (which is indicated on the inside front cover, so unless Howard took it out of the bag to check he'd never know.)
