also, as a practical matter, it's probably less expensive to pay "extras" (no speaking lines) to move the suits around rather than unholy marriage of puppetry and CGI on a BBC budget.

some episodes get better on rewatch… some get worse. "impossible astronaut / day of the moon" really hasn't aged well, while i've actually come to appreciate "robots of sherwood" (Except for the terrible ending).

Why are you here? You're not even pretending to talk about the show.

Mining copper ore isn't a simple task? We have machines that can do that now. I know, it's just a show, I should really just relax.

really, really liked this one. And in a season that's apparently going to be more full of plot holes than even most Doctor Who seasons, this one did an above average job of holding logical water. But there's just one thing…

let's split the difference - this one should have been a christmas special.

Fair point. I misremembered that as Holmes.

The master being a relative was alluded to in the classic series.

Followed hesitantly by the flat out question, "am I safe with you?"

It may shock you to learn, but the show that you just watched was… Deep breath… FICTION. not history. The things you saw on screen never actually happened. Somebody made them up. And the thing about making things up is that you can make up WHATEVER YOU WANT. You can put a Silurian in Victorian London. You can put an

You're not alone. :)

And maybe… Just maybe… The return of the tissue compression eliminator? Dare I dream?

That was a great moment… Like he was reminded of something very specific and very unpleasant in his past…

Leela/4 was just about perfect when written strongly, but only Boucher and Holmes really nailed it. And when she wasn't written strongly, she was almost impossible not to massacre. "Invisible enemy" and "invasion of time" are tragic for a few reasons, not the least of which is their portrayal of Leela.

Guilty as charged.
