Stop!

I love this. This is a route that would not feel like cheating, as he mentioned that Kevin needed a Guide two or three times before. In a heavy, meaningful tone. So our sympathy would go from believe him —> he's just crazy (cliffhanger) —> wait this is actually supernatural, or at least "real" to dead Kevin. Maybe he

The Knick!

Bam. Loved it.

I did, about 4 more. Since have dropped it. It's hard to put my finger on what I didn't love… the cinematography is nice, very much like BB, but you can still feel the lower budget. Probably the best word to describe it is "forced". I think it comes with the derivativeness, that they're grasping for these themes and

I didn't even see that, I assumed it was a fluke.

Hmm weird, episode 2 seems to be available via On Demand. Dare I?

Plug: Spontaneanation. My favorite podcast, I'm constantly laughing. Witty to the max.

Have you seen the new Fargo trailer? It subverts the BWAM in the best way.

Nice.

No, this movie was terrible.

I want to note that it's from the director of the Danish version of The Killing. That's a series that had an excellent look. I'd also like to note that this already aired in the UK and is available… places.

From the Danish version! And the director, not creator/writer. Even the American The Killing looked pretty good.

Saw the first episode. Good: cinematography, premise, overall tone. Bad: extremely derivative (so much Breaking Bad), and not the greatest acting. Going to watch a few more to get a fully formed opinion.

I did as well. Liked the look and tone but just felt a bit derivative. I'll form an opinion in a few more episodes.

Absolutely loved it. Still stuck in my head a few days after watching. Mood is key here; don't be digging for a story while you're watching, the plot points gradually reveal themselves with little effort. Just get sucked into the atmospheric landscape shots, ready for a masterfully tense set pieces shortly after.

I also agree about the "critical moment". It lost me when we switched perspectives to del Toro. While I loved the acting and the overall character, I wasn't particularly emotionally invested like I was with Blunt. So the reveal didn't stick. This movie was absolutely perfect in my eyes up until then, but like a lot of

ER with better developed characters, competent acting, a sense of time and place, and above all insane visual flair. That lighting!
