I hope Jurassic Park gets a mention. It's got some great action scenes in it like the T-Rex attack and the Raptors in the kitchen.

You always get years where you don't really like any and then one where you get lots of great ones in the same year annoyingly! The Raid 2/Kingsman/John Wick or Kill Bill/Ong Bak.
I need to watch MI1 again, I thought it was great when I saw it back in 96.
I loved John Wick, and Kingsman actually, and was really hoping they would be the best movie of their year, but the Raid 2 man!
For what it's worth these are my top 10 Woo movies.
How so?
Recently in Lucha Underground, the craziest and best sci-fi/wrestling/cop-show/action TV show right now, a character called the Mack told his boss "Always bet on Mack" I loved it!
At last! John Woo is my favourite director (go, figure) and Hard Boiled is my favourite movie of his. I used to prefer The Killer, which has more character to it, and you could argue Bullet in the Head is a better movie too but Hard Boiled is the most watchable. It's second only to Die Hard as the greatest action…
My predictions for future columns.
Also if you want to give a nomination to a different kind of movie like Team America then I would say Kung Fu Panda is a much better choice!
Also District 13 and Kung Fu Hustle.
It came out in 2011 though. You don't like the Raid or John Woo it seems. Do you like The Raid II (much better imo) or Asian cinema?
True, great movie. I don't mind if it wins 1996 over Mission Impossible and I kind of hope it does.
I think Mission Impossible and Kill Bill will beat both Bad Boys films.
Plus neither Desperado or Goldeneye launched Michael Bay's career so that's a plus for both of them.
Desperado and Goldeneye are way better and Desperado propelled Robert Rodriguez and Goldeneye brought back James Bond so both were hugely important.
1994- Speed. Sorry Leon
1995- Desperado should take this. Reckon Goldeneye will
1996- Mission Impossible. Maybe the Rock or even Independence Day
1997- Starship Troopers/Con-Air/Face Off/Fifth Element
1998- Ronin, surely!
1999- The Mummy… joking, it's the Matrix
2000- Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon… though Battle Royale…
However in the James Bond movies they do allow cars from different brands to be featured such as the ice chase in Die Another Day with the Aston Martin and the Jaguar or the one in Spectre.
So 1992 is Hard Boiled, the best action movie of the decade, but what about the other years? 1993- The Fugitive, Jurassic Park even perhaps

Red Cliff Part 1 and 2 are easily as good as his pre-Hollywood movies.
