And there are likely big attorney-client privilege issues too. Consultants get work product privilege, not generally attorney client. A lawyer wouldn't be talking to his client with a consultant present.

She'd never be allowed in detainment without a bar card. She wouldn't be negotiating with law enforcement. And consultants can't take a management position in a law firm. They can only do discrete jobs and take orders.

Carrie doesn't have a client because she hasn't been to law school or passed the bar. Unless of course we missed something between Season Five and Six. She can't meet subjects in detainment, have a management role in a law firm or talk to the FBI (who should really be an Assistant US Attorney) on a person's behalf. …
