Let's be clear here. I didn't dislike her because she was black. I disliked her because 1) She was a cop, and 2) because she was completely pointless to the story. Ruby is MUCH more interesting, and she's barely had any screen time.

I disagree 100% that her death was cliche; on the contrary, I found her character to be painfully cliched. I will be extremely pissed off if she comes back as anything other than a deadite.

Personally, I think both Ashes will survive the fight. Evil Ash will make Amanda his new Sheila.
