That is probably in my top five favorite Christmas songs. I don't whose idea it was to get Crosby and Bowie to sing together, but it worked out amazingly well.

Walking in the Air and Merry Xmas Everybody are both pretty great IMO.

The lyrics were most likely written five minutes before they recorded so it's not surprising.

For all it's many flaws I've always had a bit of a soft spot for this song.
