Okay, so you agree that there should be no violent ads, right?

To translate: Anybody who disagrees with me is a bad person. Other opinions are not only wrong, they're evil. Unlike you, I care about people, whereas clearly you have no empathy for women and are a misogynist. I find it depressing people don't think the way I do on every social issue.

It's solid proof that a lot of people want to get on the bandwagon, perhaps; and I don't think "Three reasons mentioned by some guys in an AV Club article" is equal to lots. If you want to play that game, by the numbers I'm pretty sure every post I saw about this on the trending feed was wholly and unequivocally

This was basically the plot of "Days of Future Past".

But you don't have to do that by using an image that is disturbing/has real-life associations to people.

That's because it's not hyperbole. Hyperbole is an exaggeration. This is not an exaggeration, I'm just pointing out that nobody thinks Apocalypse is the good guy in this poster. If you're trying to tell me that you know ANYBODY who thought that, I don't believe you.

I know! All my scores of swastika tattoed biker gang white supremacist rapist friends thought that Apocalypse was the hero here! Clearly that's the normal reaction!

Among many others, they used the image of the villain choking out one of the X-Men universe's most powerful heroes to establish that 1) This is a very powerful villain, and 2) This is a very evil villain.

You remind me of the guy who, after the whole "Cap is a Nazi" thing came out, said the problem isn't REALLY that Cap was a Nazi but that they used the Nazis as a hook for the next issue, when it was clear by everybody's reactions that what people were upset about is that Cap became a Nazi.

Yes, I realize they're blue/mutants…

So, your problem is just that a guy is choking someone out?

But this is a poster about a villain, acting like a villain, to one of the heroes.

Geez you people. Instead of alluding in dark undertones how sexist all the people who don't get Mcgowan's obviously valid and brilliant point (which if you disagree with you're clearly either a sexist or just a clueless bumpkin) are, can you actually SAY what you think is offensive about it?

No, I totally get that people get mad when a villain does bad things.

Ah. Misinterpreted the comment.

You say that like it's a bad thing, but the portrayal Helga's home life seriously is one of the best parts of "Hey, Arnold".

This was more entertaining than the review.

What turned me off? The trailers. "Civil War" had some of the best trailers for a film I'd seen in a long time (the MCU in general is pretty good at them), but "Apocalypse's" trailers told me nothing. I had no clue what it was about, nor did I get any hint about the personalities of the major characters (Quicksilver

…Why? We have no evidence of it. Actors and characters are not the same thing.

That wasn't why I said they were rabbits. I said they were rabbits because NONE OF US ARE RABBITS HERE. Therefore, they don't represent reality as I know it. Thus, the book is inferior. QED.
