"It kills the momentum of the final scene"
I only noticed slow-mo when the combatants are charging towards each other and for about 2 seconds when the Khan is delivering the final blow. We could argue all day about whether the scene would be more effective without those 2 seconds, but does it really "kill" the momentum?
