You've yet to demonstrate that, you just keep asserting it. Romero's boundery-breaking movies which reinvented the myths of the monsters they deal with are the direct antithesis of the high concept "let's remake exactly what's already been done successfully" ethos of contemporary filmmaking.

Well, that can be said of literally every successful filmmaker, so it strikes me as a fairly weak argument for what makes Romero uniquely important. And I still say it is not true because there's no way the major studio productions that are made today would be allowed his level of gore or pessimism, and the

How did he change filmmaking. Nothing he'd done, from the amount of gore to the low budget filmmaking wasn't already being done, and his methods of filming have had no impact on how movies are made today.

It's so firmly, practically spoken, yet so over the top.

And learning how to be insufferably entitled parents at restaurants.

As a teen, it made no specific impact on me, though I loved the movie. Now as an older adult, the depravity it represents is deeply disturbing to me. Which I mean as a compliment.

My favorite Romero movie, my favorite vampire movie.

Stop it. You're ignorant!

You don't still expect AV Club writers to know what they are talking about, do you?

What the hell, AV Club? Romero did neither of the things you credit him with in the headline. He was a genius and a beloved filmmaker, but do you go to movies or look at how they are made these days?

I genuinely did laugh out loud at this.

Nashville or Bust. Nabin's finest work.

What the hell does this have to do with pop culture???

I feel like Ignatiy is doing the same. We were supposed to ignore the number one movie from a few weeks ago because he didn't like that one-we were supposed to pay attention to what got the number four place or something.

Is Ignatiy doing all the weekend box office articles these days? I've noticed there's a weird editorial spin on them, not giving us just the numbers and some snark but a lot more of "But this is how you should evaluate these numbers" nonsense that I could do without.

It's Martin for me, but yeah.

He not only gave it to us, he forced us to take it. And I admire the hell out of him for it.

Damn it, George, you better stay true to the precedent you set and not stay dead!

Or, maybe, let's do some research on the subject before we blather online without empathy.

You have the perfect username for that comment.
