OK—I was just wondering if the guy might have contradicted something he said in the previous episode and it tipped Marty off.

Can someone explain how Marty knew that cop on the golf course was lying?

That's right—he went off the grid all those years and didn't even renew his driver's license until 2010.

Not to mention I'd miss the opportunity to re-watch each episode obsessively for the next week and see something new every time.

He was just as mad at himself as he was at her for using him.

Hmm. I'm gonna have to watch that AGAIN, obviously! I kinda got that G & P were pitching the theory that Cohle guided the investigation to Ledoux in order to deflect suspicion from the real killer (or killers—himself or others) and Ledoux just happened to be handy as a scapegoat. But now my head is spinning…

There are about ten thousand things about this show that bug me. I'm completely hooked.

It seems uncharacteristic of Rust to lose his cool, though, doesn't it?

Me too. Those scenes have been absolutely hypnotic!

…If they know the truth about what happened with Ledoux. I'm kinda inclined to think they probably don't, at least not yet. They seemed to enjoy Cohle and Hart's stories about the event, but on the other hand maybe they were just enjoying watching them spin their lies—?

Good point. That does fit Rust's persona.

Thanks so much! Can't wait for tonight!

Sorry I'm coming to this discussion so late, and also if this has already been discussed, but did anyone else get the impression that Cohle and Ledoux knew each other? I was weirded out during the scene when Hart is poking around inside and leaves Cohle alone with Ledoux. Ledoux's partner comes out of the meth shed,
