C'mon, if you can't even talk about race… Empire, Atlanta, Luke Cage etc. If it has a predominantly black cast, it's getting a good AVclub grade. I'm not saying those shows can't be good, but avclub can't rate them badly.

Over time, I've learned that if the AVclub claims something's bad, it's worth checking to see if this is because it's not progressive enough for them. If you're looking for entertainment rather than progressive politics, odds are the show's good.
