Did you mean to link a different article? That one was about jerks turning on her for supporting the firing of Trump's campaign manager, hard to see how that equals her supporting doxxing or siding with gamergaters. (Though, I really don't pay much attention to silliness like gamergate so maybe I'm missing some

I tried googling her and doxxing and didn't come up with much. Could you throw some links, or quotes that support the doxxing and that feminists are out to get men/boys? Because from what I've seen, she's much like myself in that she supports womens causes but would like honesty and facts to be used instead of

Why?

First off, yes, when averaged over all professions. But does that make any sort of sense when people flock to different professions at different rates? Think of it like this, when someone points out that black folks are incarcerated at a higher rate than white folks, we understand that there's a boatload of context.

From the post about banning 'harrassing' subreddits: "While FPH may have been relatively circlejerky and superficially vicious, it was a subreddit where people would go expressly to vent. Very rarely would personal information be included or anyone targeted and when that does happen, generally the mods were fantastic

This is silly. The big marvel movies are pulling about 20 million audience members in North America alone (Iron Man 3, Civil War, Age of Ultron) while the season average for Agents is less than half that. So, to tie major points in, the movie either has to recap for the half that hasn't seen any Agents, or bore the

My anti TPP thong is amazing!

Thanks!

Sorry, what was the last big hashtag activism against exploitation?
Personally, I do my best to live my life in a manner that I'm proud of (wearing almost everything second hand, writing letters to politicians, supporting causes that make a real difference). And I, in the back of my head, pray that if enough of us

Nope, but I do advocate for real change by signing petitions, writing letters, living as best I can and trying to get the progressive left to embrace real social justice, not this flavour of the week trivial crap.

I do what I can in within the constrains of a normal life. I'm at work, wearing almost entirely second hand clothes, signed petitions and am now taking a break pointing out self righteous hypocrisy. Not every minute has to be spent fighting the system, but I find something reprehensible about saying some people

Or, we could focus on a few issues that are legitimately huge. Instead of focusing on relatively petty bullshit.
"Oh no! People don't like the new ghostbusters!" - Wrote someone on a machine made possible by exploiting women and children to mine in dangerous conditions for barely subsistence pay…

Exactly! It's not geek culture, it's fucking crazies, of whom there are many.

Pointing out self righteous hypocrisy? Always fun!

You're assumption is that Daniel Tosh is an immoral/insufferable prick because he tells jokes which offend you.

So death threats are cool as long as billy and the cloneasaurus don't approve of them making jokes?
(Also, are his jokes, which are entirely theoretical, morally worse than actually wearing clothes made by exploited children who occasionally burn to death to lower costs?)

Is geek culture also the culture that sends hundreds of death threats to Daniel Tosh every week? Or is it just the internet has made it incredibly easy to harass anyone with whom you disagree?

Sure, let's talk racism. First let's put aside the fact that tweeting about it is morally equivalent to free states in the 18th century getting slaves to write signs about free state treatment of blacks.

Fully agree.
Though, I wonder to what extent the SJW or hype around media representation creates a backlash and avoids interesting, real discussion.
