It was the Germans/Bohemians in Prague who were responsible for the most famous defenestration, as it sparked the 30 Years War and all…

Yeah, but as Bryan Fuller tweeted: MORE BLOOD THIS TIME!

We sang that at our end of school year Mass at my Catholic grade school, probably 1985 as well. But the verse that Cyndi Lauper sings on was left out lest anyone dare imitate her in Church (gasp!).

As a student at UW at the time, I was pretty sure the proto-AV Club's pushing of the Lounge Revival was secretly a joke.

There's very little to no historical evidence that Leo liked the ladies at all. The show got a lot of crap from the blogs (especially in the first season) when they presented him as bi.

I think its a fun show. However if "straight-washing" Leonardo is going to piss you off, you might want to skip it.

1995 week is still young. I won't start bitching about AV Club ignoring MCIS until Thursday.

Helmet? Had a friend in college back in those days who was super into Pantera (and by gosh, still is, judging by his Facebook feed). The only concert we both attended was Helmet.

NOooooooo! She's going to be Stephen Colbert's first guest bumped on the Late Show! [Apologies to Doris Kearns Goodwin.]

Cinerama or GTFO, Tarantino!

It's only Tuesday.

Everything's coming up Hum on AV Club today.

I'm pretty sure they were the first band I got into solely based on someone's "sig" on USENET. "She thinks she missed the train to Mars, she's out back counting stars" just seemed so awesome, before I even heard the song.

My Hum notification subscription finally paid off!

DW, but she wouldn't have "Simpson" DNA, no?

Guessing we'll see the "Who is John Stewart?" clip on The Daily Show at some point this week.
