I love Tug of War, but I can't stand that song.

Do you not know John Lennon? He was never enthusiastic about anything. Paul knew that was closest Lennon would ever allow himself to show.

I had forgot about Electric Arguments, definitely top 5.

Top 10 solo/Wings McCartney:

Paul was listening to a lot of younger artists at the time he was recording this. Mark Ronson has said he was really into Usher's "Climax" and kept bringing him stuff like that to the studio. Obviously, the album isn't gonna sound like that, but I do think it counts as sort of a challenge that Paul wants to take the

You'd pick Abbey Road, yes! Completely agree!

It's what bothers me about criticizing Paul. He is more of a craftsman than a confessional or conceptual artist. Makes no sense to point it out. If I go to the studio, and say "Hey Paul, write me a song about a rabbit eating carrots!", in five minutes he'll have the most beautiful jaunty melody and lyrics about it.

I think it's a bit annoying Bob Dylan always gets fantastic reviews for simply releasing an album, but Paul always get more mixed reviews. If anything, he has been on an upswing in quality. All of his work since Chaos And Creation In The Backyard have been great. I don't get this review. This is a gorgeous album.

For some reason, I thought that was Jamie Lee Curtis in the picture. No, I don't watch this show.

The Christmas episode was actually the second best (although it somewhat distant second to this one). But it was genuinely sweet, funny episode and had the best Bart/Lisa scene in ages.

This might just be my favorite Simpsons episode ever, maybe top 3, at least. As quotable and inventive as it is, the scene where Homer tells Lisa how special she is to him is just the most touching moment in the show's history, I can't help but cry.

I'm a homo superior, and all you other bitches are homo basic!

@avclub-77ae1a5da3b68dc65a9d1648242a29a7:disqus I said that the respect for Zodiac goes beyond The Av Club, that's all. I never said that my opinion was proved by this list. The leaps people make to invalidate your points…

The japanese edition costs 75 trillion dollars? Wow!

Because we shouldn't listen to the arguments themselves and the case made for the films, but instead hold a bias of taste towards people?

I didn't say Cannes was anti-american. I said Cannes isn't fond of mainstream american films winning. You made quite a leap of judgement there. It isn't even open to interpretation in my post, because, really, it's all there.

I think that had Satrapi been a long working in animation director she could've won it. But alas, the won animation auteur to win this was Miyazaki, so you need to have a long career or at least more important animated films to win this, i think. I'm actually fine with either one, I thought both were truly great films.

Listen to zetes about Vera Drake. One of the worst Leigh films, I still don't know how it got all that acclaim. Too dependent on Imelda Staunton as well.

Well, opinions are subjective, and so is film criticism.

Why shouldn't later works affect your perception of a director? If a film changes your mind about someone, to the point you start noticing recurring aspects in his films that went by unnoticed, I don't see what the big deal is. It's extremely important to take body of work into account in forming an identity,
