I love it when people on the internet who aren't from Brazil mention Sepultura. And yes, Igor is a fantastic drummer, might be one of the best drummers in brazilian music history. Too bad he now spends most of his time doing shitty electro.
It's fun in the band Fun. sense of fun.
Hey now, I didn't mean everybody. But it's becoming more and more frequent to see comments that fall in that category.
I wouldn't say it's one of the best of the year (simply because this year is very, very strong). But I would call it the best album from OddFuture (at the very least the best rap album if we are counting Frank Ocean).
I guess you never heard Frank Ocean's album then either, since Earl has an excellent verse on it. But then, the AV Club is slowly becoming the "get off my lawn" place of pop culture sites and people more and more brag about not being in touch with what's going on right now.
Channel Orange doesn't count.
This was by far the best album to come out of OddFuture (I don't really count Frank here). I don't know why some dislike it so much.
I do think The Next Day is gonna age very well and at one point we will be seeing it in a lot of fan top 10. I have it at eleven for now, but only because I want to give it some time.
Is that him in the picture or some bizarre merging of Goldie's and Kurt face done in a computer? Because man, he looks like both, but at the same time, weird.
Top 10 time, because I love them lists!
I disagree about The Next Day. To me it's less his interpretation of something going on now and much, much more a perspective on his own legacy, a Bowie album that manages to assemble a bit of each era. It's why I love the album so much, and why I think it eventually will be remembered much better than anything post…
Aladdin Sane is a top 5 Bowie album for me, and I considered it much superior to Ziggy actually. "Watch That Man", "Time" (which is one of my all time favorite songs), "Cracked Actor", "The Prettiest Star", his version of "Let's Spend The Night Together"… It's just a fantastic album all around.
I never noticed Sean's initials formed the word SON.
I think it's the other way around, actually. The Idiot sounds like something similar to Station To Station for example. Lust For Life is more Iggy than Bowie.
I don't like the Bowie version much, but I love the Iggy original. So no, you have no facts.
For the longest time I had Heroes as my favorite Bowie album. But in the past few years, Scary Monsters has claimed that title for me. Plus, Ashes To Ashes/ Fashion/Teenage Wildlife must be the best sequence of tracks in a Bowie album, it's just killer.
A lot of people have a problem with Bowie doing a straight-forward pop album, but seriously, it is awesome nonetheless. Bowie, Rodgers, Moroder… how can you go wrong with that?
I actually find Ziggy slightly, very slightly overrated by fans. It's a great album, but it's such a strong, embarrassment of riches period for Bowie, that I wouldn't put it so high. Aladdin Sane deserved that much love more. Ziggy almost doesn't make my top 10 Bowie albums (and it says less about its quality than it…
I have never watched Trapped In The Closet, but I guess I should.
