A native? I mean, he's spent time there, but he was still born a flesh and blood mutant.

I think if it's not a superhero show it will be soon. You've got a superpowered individual with vaguely heroic goals.

I really don't think she's the Shadow King. I know some people think she's Farouk, and others think she's Mojo, but I still say Fiend/ Professor Y from Spurrier's X-Men Legacy.

" Legion can’t tell you why Kerry and Cary Loudermilk share a body, any more than it can explain how she manages to leave that shared space for hours on end. "- isn't the answer to that basically just "he's a mutant"?

' either because the legal system is largely slanted to favor male perpetrators of sexual abuse, or because the women are intimidated into never bringing charges in the first place."

I don't think the presumption of evidence contributes to rape culture, any more than doing so for murder creates a culture that tolerates killing. It's just the only practical way to treat someone accused of a crime.

Are there that many women who have lost 40 pounds for a role? I definitely associate drastic weight fluctuations for a part more with male actors.

I don't see how "conservative feminism" is an oxymoron. It could work in a "I'm a Republican feminist' kind of way, or just "I'm a feminist, but one of the more conservative ones".

While I'm not a big fan of Belle and Sebastian's modern dancier stuff, if you want a return to form from Stuart Murdoch the obvious thing to listen to is his side project God Help The Girl, which feels much more like their earlier work and has some great vocals from people like Catherine Ireton.

People are more well-read than ever, but that doesn't mean knowing every single work by every single historically significant English-language author, down to the level of child rhyme modification.

That sort of tidbit's a fine detail to toss in as reinforcement, but it's a ridiculous thing to expect people to know.

What part of "They should be aware of his existence and significance" makes you think I'm advocating ignoring the concept of White Man's Burden? But as I said, there's a difference between giving people a broad overview of his historical significance and teaching them his entire body of work, expecting people to know

It's not like Mia's established as being particularly good at getting jobs, I can see her messing up the promotion.

As far as I can tell, her career since Community has been mostly appearing in romantic comedies with impressive casts and bad reviews.

They should be aware of his existence and significance, but not necessarily "and here he changed a common rhyme to make a racist version".

Because it doesn't come up much? I know that I managed to spend my entire childhood without hearing any versions of child rhymes with racial slurs added in.

Does anyone know if the old episodes are going to come back to Netflix?

I think a song about Pac-Man, which is still fairly popular, to the tune of a Beatles song, is probably better suited to aging than a parody of My Sharona, or Mickey.

But why would this have destroyed his career? Are they claiming it would have been too astonishingly popular or something? It's not like the song is that different from Al's other Demento-era work.

Is it really a tantrum to say someone's doing a bad job?
