I'm pretty damn sure it wasn't thousands of dudes that flocked to see it again and again. I know guys who went with their girls maybe once but I know many girls that went to see it many times. And I've read that phenomenon was't exclusive to where I lived.

What's the point?

Um, the point is that it made a billion dollars from half of the movie going audience. Really? You can't read between the lines?

While I agree that more women should do more stuff in the industry I'm hard pressed to believe anybody would be able to tell by watching a film alone telling what the gender of the person writing or directing it is.
