I thought it was fresh and funny for three seasons (especially the first two) or so - through Carrie's first breakup with Aiden. But, then it nose dived IMO (with some good moments though). It was pretty bad at the end and I hated Carrie by then.

That's why I liked Seinfeld. It was so over-the-top in that regards - few people act that way all the time. I don't think it was supposed to be taken so seriously, yet I often read reflections on Seinfeld and people, not just you, seemed to have been really bothered by the lack of morality, even though they've

SJP denied the conflict rumors on Alex Baldwin's podcast and on Fresh Air, but she didn't sound too convincing.

"Lupita Nyong'o IS Lena Dunham in 'Delusional Girl'."

I laughed out loud; it's like an SNL skit. I had never heard this Lena comment before. Thanks.

I LOVE this story. It's also a timely "Whatever Happened To?"

I'll definitely see it. I WANT to love it, but it does look a bit "conventional" from the trailer, but that's only the trailer. It looks good enough, and at least the topic of the movie interests me. I'm positive I'll be entertained (love the actors and the topic), and probably also roll my eyes a few times. But,

I think Collateral Beauty is officially a flop. Honestly, it didn't look that great.

I had posted before many of the Korbel references in the thread showed up. I thought the earlier citations to Korbel were in reference to champagne (or "sparkling white wine"). I feel like an idiot. I didn't know Korbel made brandy. Obviously they do, and most of it is going to Wisconsin. Learn something every day.

Exactly. I'd see it if got an "F". Loved the play, and the cast here is amazing (particularly looking forward to Viola and Russell Hornsby). Plus, I want to support it. Movies like these, a black drama based on the play of a major black playwright don't get the major movie treatment too often. And, even if

"There are degrees of coincidence!" (I think Elaine says that before).

What type do Wisconinites drink? Mainly the major cognacs, or is there some cheap "house" brand or local/regional variant that a lot of people go to to save money. I'm sure Costco has some sort of decent Kirkland cognac or brandy.

That Filipino crispy pork dish looks wonderful.

I'm sort of interested to see this. Empire has worn on me, but I'm a sucker for a trashy, campy "entertainment industry" show. For example, I loved the now departed "Smash". Couldn't watch this last night, but I'll get around to it this weekend.

The immature social interactions (what functioning adult wouldn't know to not just show up at the Sotheby's office and stammer through her deferred compensation explanation instead of simply calling her friend and asking if she could discuss the matter), inane clumsiness (Frances trips when confronting Robert on the

Or simply swap Talia Balsim and SJP's roles. Talia as Frances would be great. Then have SJP be the Carrie Bradshaw-esque, flailing, cutesy side kick (which could work in a not-too-large role).

Titanic is a fantastic example. It's a beloved movie by many, but also dismissed by many because it's too commercial (or for whatever reason). But, just a magnificent melding of fiction and non-fiction.

My family LOVES a good properly made ham. Weirdly (or not), when I was growing up we would have turkey on Thanksgiving, turkey and ham on Christmas, and ham on Easter. We still do, though we don't get together for every holiday.

I love turkey no doubt, but I wonder how much people would love it if it were an everyday food. For a LOT of people, they only eat a Thanksgiving-style whole turkey a couple of times a year, if not just once. I wonder if the novelty adds to its appeal. Again, I love it, but only have it a couple times year.

I've never understood why white meat (at chicken restaurants, at the grocery store) is such a premium. Chickens are a commodity, hardly rare - and they're cutting it into parts anyway.
