As an ex-department store casual employee, these real-life scenarios they choose to draw on are all too real and visceral for me. It's partly why I love this show so much, so damn relatable.

Yeah I agree with the OP, the links are very loose because of real-life tropes, but these are all unique characters with their own personalities.
Amy is almost like the Jim at times…
I wish these reviews were running all season, she's been on fire with the quotes. The whole show has been actually.
Yes, Glenn is really the only weak spot on this show for me. Less is more.
Sometimes I get a knee-jerk hate reaction against such blatantly obvious will-they-won't-they pairings and even more so for the 'they definitely will' pairings, but I am really digging the very very very slow burn they are doing with Amy/Jonah. It's playing out very organically and doesn't feel forced and it's not…
I don't know when, but Dina has potentially eclipsed Garrett as my favourite character, I mean I love all of them (with the exception of Glenn grating at times), but Dina always cracks me up - they deploy her efficiently without overdoing it and also perhaps because she's reminiscent of Dwight from The Office.
Yes, I can revisit my obsessive teen crushing on Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp once again!
I'm surprised by the general reaction here, what Abby did and the hypocrisy of the situation was horrible yes, but it's her daughter we're talking about - they've shown time and again throughout the seasons that they are each other's number ones and I completely understand and bought her extreme emotional reaction and…
Yes, finally some Mount Weather parallels and the look on Clarke's face when Raven made her realise that fact, was chilling.
I lost my shit when the Pink Floyd song came on, absolutely perfect.
Not to mention the TV format has done it justice - I'm glad this didn't take the movie route.
Can they demote Mon-El off the show while they're at it? That would be the second best thing they could do.
Just adding to the accolades for this show, it's top notch in every way. It reminds me of Mr Robot and Hannibal in a good way.
I've only seen the first two eps, but I am well and truly lost in terms of Danny's abilities and who he is and just a general what the fuck is going on. I'm coming into this with zero knowledge about him or the comics and my biggest question is why is he still walking around with no shoes…I don't mind the slow doling…
I agree, Bellamy's story this episode didn't land with me as I'm sure they intended - not interested in his sop story and supposed failure to protect people when he went on a voluntary, unprovoked killing bender of hundreds of innocent people. This will all be retroactively great in hindsight if he actually dies this…
Legion is blazing a trail right now and is making shows like this an absolute chore to watch by comparison, especially with what they're doing with Mon-El and Kara, it's so disappointing.
That's fair and I agree generally, but the statement 'I could care less' literally doesn't make sense in the context and intent that it's being used - it's illogical. I'm all for colloquialisms but this one is inconsistent with the intent behind how they're writing it and using it. Saying 'I couldn't care less'…
That's a little irrelevant to this - it's not about what Octavia has or hasn't done and is doing now or comparing them at all…Octavia's issue with Bellamy is an emotional one over Lincoln specifically and that is what I am referring to (and what the show is referring to). It is within Octavia's right whether or not…
I don't understand that, but generally, I hold screenwriters to a higher standard and they should know better. Perpetuating the wrongness of it doesn't make it ok, but having said, it is a pet peeve of mine because I am surprised by how many get it wrong.
