Are you sure you know how insurance works? If I sideswipe your car, I'm not legally obligated to buy you a new one with my own money or even pay a deductible in most cases. That's what liability coverage is for.

People aren't actually obligated to replace things they break by accident. If I accidentally break your guitar, no matter how expensive it is, all I owe you is an apology. Anything on top of that is me being generous because I feel bad and you damn well better not complain about it.
