The only Straits tune he did was So Far Away, for his encore.  I'm with you in that I've not heard anything preventing him, or making him reluctant to, revisit his Dire Straits songs.  He's released something like seven solo albums, so I suppose he's concentrating on those.

It's odd that I'm saddened by the news of a man passing at five years short of a century, isn't it?  Felt similar when I heard about Andy Griffith.  They both seemed like really good guys.
