Madam Secretary was clearly designed to fill the gap… but its ratings are just good - not great - and the Emmys completely ignored it, despite a cast conceived as a nominations magnet.
So if Marguiles herself is not letting Alicia go…

For the lovers of the show… I really hope so.
Let Alicia (and the others) go.
This faceless woman is maybe the key of everything…
In the show, the french actress (yeah, someone plays her) rolls her eyes at each sentence and tries to look very thoughtful…
So… she's either so bad in english that she doesn't get what she's saying.
Or she's the only one to know that the show is, in fact, a comedy.
…
Tou…
Back in the days, she didn't even want to do voiceover for the Buffy videogames…
But now, I'm sure she would do the Buffy Animated Series in a heartbeat.
Now, we can all tell our children that Terminator was just a trilogy.
And like most trilogies, the third one was useless.
Also called the "Mr Robot" effect.
Completely agree about how Carter owes so much to his writers (kind of like Alan Ball on Six Feet Under).
So glad that the Morgans and Wong are back, but they haven't really done great things since then…
I thought about The X Files too…
Duchovny left the show after 7 years, and comes back 13 years later. So… never say never, dear Kiefer.
Thanks for the explanation !
I'm wondering if Showtime didn't asked for a more comedic tone : they cancelled Sleeper Cell the same year, and put Weeds on the air in 2005.
With all those sitcoms actors, there was maybe a temptation to go there…
Very interesting, indeed.
And if she can say that about a network, I would die to know why she can't say anything about why Showtime cancelled Huff.
For me, if there was a test about the best girlfriend in Friends, she'd won. Hands down.
She wasn't particularly funny, but she was perfect for the romantic side of the show.
I hated the end of her storyline, though.
Well, she's clearly the perfect fit for a random role.
What a career.
One Big Happy was horrible. HORRIBLE.
And if he has to chose between directing Kingsman 2 or this one, we already know his answer.
That's what Diesel did… when he thought he could be taken seriously as an actor.
But after having been "a man apart", a "pacifier", and went to Babylon A.D and XXX, he realized he couldn't.
Indeed… for a last job.
…
Well, three last jobs.
Indeed.
And this is a show that gets better season after season… and doing so, perfectly dealt with family comedies inevitable problem : kids growing up.
She loves Veep and thinks that she's gonna like Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll because she had fun on Rescue Me…
…
Man, she's like regular people.
One day, I would like to know why the office went so wrong when Lieberstein became showrunner.
Was it an insidious and meta way to show us he's really Toby ?
Those two REALLY know how to talk to ABC.
