My coworkers thought I was crazy for not enjoying it, but season two felt very off. Like watching the first few episodes of Arrested Development's Netflix season. It looks like the show, and sounds like the show, but for some reason, I wasn't laughing…

This gif is missing Carson's amazing reaction and makes me sad

Ru definitely does fall into those categories. Cross-dressing - which is something drag queens do - is transgressive, and would result in those people being called the t-slur. I don't even have to venture outside my extended family to know that Ru is a valid target, for lack of a better term, for that word.

That's a really problematic statement. You're telling someone who was/is in an oppressed group that the word they reclaimed is no longer theirs to reclaim.

Policing Ru on if he's allowed to use the t-slur is not very different from a white person telling black people not to use the n-word.

I'm uncomfortable ranking groups like that. The only reason you're able to say that is because there's been a large(ish, in comparison to other minority groups) effort to make policies to benefit the black community. If we gave other groups the same chance, I'm sure we'd get it from them too.

No, their feet still need to be held to the fire. Even with the #OscarsSoWhite hashtag, there's been very little discussion about Native American, Asian, or Hispanic representation in Hollywood.

If we really want to get into this hierarchy, I'd say Native Americans are below them.

Meanwhile, Slate's going around criticizing The Daily Show when they have one of the most diverse group of correspondents and comedians on TV right now.

MADTV was also diverse in a less binary way, as well

It's fascinating Carly Rae has the underdog going for her given how huge Call Me Maybe was. Emotion is a great album though, and she's by far one of the best concerts I've been to this year.

I was also a little confused by his life being spared. The Japanese claim that he's suffered enough, but I think that letting him go would just turn him against the Japanese (even further) and encourage him to become a dangerous rebel.

There are key differences between the attack in Paris and the attacks in Beirut and Baghdad, however. And I'm not entirely sure that the ethnocentric focus on France is necessarily a bad thing.

One of the attackers used a fake Syrian passport and got into Europe using the same channels the refugees have been using (or at least that's what was being reported Sunday morning).

Yeah, it uncomfortably turned into an #AllLivesMatter-esque one-upmanship on tragedies this weekend on my Facebook feed.

Woof, forgot about that one.

I don't think it was nearly as explored as it was set up in the pilot; Skye had an about-face on SHIELD pretty quickly in the first few episodes and the show pushed it to the side in favor of some cringey standalones. They sorta tied it in at the end of the season but it didn't really gel.

After the first season of Parks, they retooled the show completely based off of what was and wasn't working. During the first season of SHIELD, the showrunners were saying that any criticism was coming from people who expected Iron Man to show up every episode and threw in jokes like Mary Sue Poots to poke fun at the…

What happened to my SALT sequel I've been looking forward to???

I'd love for SHIELD to be able to cross-pollinate more in the greater MCU; having non-Coulson characters show up for bit parts in the movies or Netflix shows could make SHIELD seem less inessential. That and some catch-up videos on YouTube could help draw in more viewers, methinks.
