Again, GHOST IN THE SHELL is based off a visual medium similar to superheroes based off of comic books. There's a key component to her character (her aesthetic) that will be affected by the race-switch.

But ScarJo isn't black or Latina. She's white. She *could* be Japanese-American, you suppose, but why bother? She should just be the "default" in American society - white.

EXODUS is interesting because it tries to have the story go both ways; it ultimately fails because it can't decide whether it should be a straight-up religious telling or if it should try to make it "historically accurate." The Exodus tale and its plagues likely never happened, meaning that EXODUS is as freely

EXODUS is also a religious depiction, like NOAH and THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST.

Hypocrisy? I'm talking recently.

Yet people outraged at peoples' outrage over a black James Bond are being strangely quiet, or worse, rationalizing the change!

Eh, there was a Marvel supercut trailer that was featured on GJI earlier this year that did it a lot better.

Not to get all nitpicky about the link (although isn't that the point of the Great Job, Internet! comments?), but although the trailer is able to blend a bunch of shots together, it doesn't really come across as a trailer.

DVDs. It's how parents shut kids up at home. It's also how Dumb and Dumber To managed to find an audience under the age of 25.

Could even FZZT make up for The Well and 0-8-4?

I think the bigger issue in season one was that Skye wasn't really much of a fleshed out human; none of the characters were, really.

Yes, but it's campus rape that's the epidemic.

So after years of evidence showing us that abstinence-only sex education doesn't really work, you want to teach a bunch of young people to not have sex while drunk. Not teach them about the dangers of rape, how to prevent it, how to prevent others from doing it, or - you know - not to do it at all… you want to just

The problem with implying all sex that isn't "sober and enthusiastic" is rape is that the former situation is then a crime.

But that happens. College students get drunk together at parties and have sex. People at nightclubs after a night of drinking have sex. I've had sex with guys plenty of times when we've both been drinking.

Benedict Cumberbatch as Khan Noonien Singh!

If Transparent featured a trans actor in the lead role, it would never have been picked up by Amazon and wouldn't have the cultural cred it has now. In short, we wouldn't be talking about it.
