Hated this film, but loved the performance of Joanna Scanlan as Dickens' wife. What brilliant, understated work. And the scene where she confronts her husband's lover and gives her a necklace was powerful and captivating. If anything in this film is worth seeing, it's her scenes.

I missed the beginning of the Dad Halloween sketch, so didn't know that Edward Norton was just playing a character called Dad, and I thought that he was supposed to be John Waters.

Despite what a lot of people think, The Twilight Zone was rarely about horror, but it nonetheless had some incredible scary episodes. Ones that come to mind include Perchance to Dream, Living Doll, Twenty Two, The Hitch-Hiker, The Monsters are Due on Maple Street, It's a Good Life, Long Distance Call, and The Grave.

This review makes some very good points, but I think it's criminal to not mention the supporting work of Melissa Leo, who to me, gave by far the strongest performance in a film full of strong performances. I doubt she'd win over Oprah in The Butler (because it's Oprah, and she does a good job in the film), but she
