ABC Family canceled Huge. I seriously doubt it will be revered like Terriers five years from now as a one-season wonder. Dropping that precipitously in the ratings from week 1 to week 2 must mean something. One and done.

I would agree that The League should have been on the list. Sophomoric, juvenile, and dirty? Yes, yes, and yes. But also, very very funny.

Pretty damn happy with the list
I saw almost everything on this list (20/25) and only have a few small quibbles. That's kind of remarkable. Nice job AVC. For the record, shows I would have had a little higher: LOST, Sunny, Fringe (which is operating at its highest level ever in 2010 so it's a little surprising

No problem for me, but if I were a struggling actor in the film, I might be upset. Pitt and Penn can just move on to their next project/cause.

Oh, he operates outside of the space-time continuum? That explains it.

When was this filmed?
When I lived in Houston, I vaguely remember this being shot downtown. The only thing is, I think that was 2008. What took so long? The solar flare effects? Getting just the right whisper?

Dammit
I rely exclusively on grades to tell me which movie to see and AVC gave both Narnia and The Tourist a C-?? What the hell am I supposed to do?

next step for Julie
Julie will need to bounce back from this before the end of the series. Now that the show has put her back in Dillon, it only makes sense to me that where she'll actually end up is Chicago. Without Matt in her life, she's a train wreck. She'll end up transferring to a school in Chicago at the end

And that's pretty much how V ended last season and that someone got renewed.

It's definitely
a show. It exis

Are there any statisticians out there familiar with VORP? Value over replacement player is a newfangled stat in baseball. Now think about the Value Over Replacement TV Show (in the demo). For instance, comparing The Event to Hawaii 5-0 is nonsensical because they are on different networks. Of NBC's 12 scripted

@mojoboy The shapeshifters are on Fringe. You have your shows confused.

FF was on ABC and thus in a completely different economic situation. As others have mentioned, Heroes stuck around WAY after it's prime on NBC, like 4 years later. While The Event may not be as good as Season 1 of Heroes, it's definitely better than every other one.

Also, I think it's better than 50/50 that the Event gets picked up for season 2. Remember, this is NBC and it outperforms most scripted shows on its network. Also, it has the 3rd highest percentage bump from DVR users of any show.

The problem is that there are 33-35 weeks in a television season and only 22 episodes. How you use those "free" 12 is up to you. You can either split your season in two or you can go the "is it a rerun or a new episode tonight?" Or you can go the 8-13 episode cable route. But network TV has decisions to make. So

Maybe you should stop texting/emailing/writing super long comments on AV Club while watching. That would work, too.

No offense taken, of course. I was perhaps more interested in the overall arc of FF but the execution was poor. For crying out loud, they had flashbacks to scenes EARLIER IN THE EPISODE. They would replay Fiennes flashforward every week like we already forgot. I think FF changed show runners 2 times and it clearly

Thomas has credentials to get into the room. Did you not see his badge? He didn't steal the badge from someone. It had his picture on it. He used to work at Los Alamos in the 1940s so he's no stranger to getting access to government facilities.

The kids went through about 3 hours worth of makeup for that 7 second scene and I thought it looked pretty damn good from a production standpoint. So I guess the consensus is that it was a poor joke.

masks?
Unless it was just a (poor) joke about production values, I don't think the girls are wearing masks. That's actually their faces.
