You can hear that eye roll from space.

"Antoine Fuqua’s King Arthur was the last costly wannabe blockbuster to ask what Arthurian legend would be like if it were boring"

But yes, in the context of this particular story, it's grody.

Until quite recently you would not have had so much choice. Most people were born, lived, married and died in a small area and met relatively few people. Even in a larger city, their choices for marriage may have been constrained by class and religion.

Admirably wonky!

Not suicide. It's not easy top hang yourself like that. He was very high off the ground. How did he get the noose up there in the rafters? Did he jump off of the barrels to hang himself (there was no chair or stool)? No competent investigator would look a that scene and assume suicide. Note: I may be missing elements

Honestly, I think Luke Perry looks good, and Skeet Ulrich too. I was sorry to see that Molly Ringwald had so much work done, but I enjoy listening to her motherhood stories on The Moth. She seems like a pretty relatable person.

I'm going to cut Kevin some slack for wanting to overlook what the audience (or any adult) can see as obvious red flags with Joaquin. First of all, he has never had a boyfriend before, and he is really happy to have one. Secondly, Joaquin is gorgeous (and the bad boy image just makes him more so, except unfortunately

I know! I really felt for how traumatic it was for them, and they played it very well. As a parent of a teen, my thought was "how could these parents have put their kids in a situation where they would see this?"

Luke Perry is almost exactly my age (six months difference), so I feel no solace.

There were definitely packets of something there, and it wasn't syrup.

I teach in a medical school, so we use certain texts as a way to integrate basic science topics with doctoring skills such as as ethics, communication, etc. One of the books we use is "Middlesex" (just the most applicable chapters). This year we are also using "The Wonder"

Oh. That explains why my daughter was able to catch up on it in Japan. I was wondering about this since it's not on Netflix here. She came home thinking it was a Netflix original show.

Oh so did I! I just re-read it last week, and a bunch of stuff jumped out at me that I missed when I read 30 years ago. My old eyes see things that my younger eyes pass right over, even though I now need glasses.

What a fun thing to teach. I teach Biochemistry, but we manage to work in some literature.

Q does not just mean queer. It can mean gender queer, which is another thing. Edit: I don't mean that people are things. I mean like category, but that did not sound right either.

Rest in peace. It also really amazes me how many people got their start with Corman.

Absolutely! And I'm sure Atwood knows that. They are behaving logically if their goal is not to increase the fertility rate, but to control the populace, both male and female. Most men in Gilead have no access whatsoever to women, and they have to earn access by surviving combat (Gilead is constantly at war). Combat,

Vague environmental causes. But of course, that's if you believe that there really was such a high rate. What reliable source do we have for this? Also, the regime seemed willing to put babies to death for even minor defects like an extra toe. Even major defects could easily be fixed by surgery, but this decidedly not
