Yeah. At least mention People of Earth. I mean it's sort-of sci-fi and I think they reviewed it a bit. Sheesh!

"Remember that time when Republicans and Democrats wanted what was best
for the American people, and they worked together to come up with the
best way to provide that?"

Jeff Sessions is an Eagle Scout. He doesn't think much of him, but something for him to do.

Mayor Stubbs, the cat who was a mayor in Alaska, has died. Although as a cat Stubbs was beyond or tangential to politics.

WoT just sucks now.

"I thought this kind of thing only happened to white people. Then I wake up to see a lizard person in my house and I'm like 'Damn, I guess this thing is on.'"

I would like a bit of nod someday to Helena thinking about that stuff. Her statement on wanting her babies to be different was one a little, but I think the realization you killed actual people (and not soulless creatures) would be upsetting.

Hey it turns out I have some free HBO thing so I can check out Insecure or whatever. Neat.

They could go weirdly dark I suppose. Everything seems great in the last episode. They're all eating happily and people like the more chill Allison. She gets a call from a friend in California.

I was thinking they were Neolution symbology.

Ah, okay. My mistake.

The motivation thing I see, but has Helena really ever expressed remorse for anything besides killing the surrogate mother? Has she ever said she feels about the German now that she knows she's a fellow human being? And she killed a bunch of mobsters after leaving the Proletheans and she presumably knew they had souls.

I did worry it sounded that way. Still I think the polls do tend to show LGBT believe in monogamy in marriage less. I think many of them, like Andrew Sullivan, say that it's just they're being more honest. That straight people's rates of non-monogamy in marriage is about the same, but they'll claim to believe in it

I'm aware it's maybe a dangerous thing to say, but I kind of think there's something a bit contradictory in how people talk about this.

I was going to say "Person of Interest's Michael Emerson" too but the island stuff does make referencing Lost more sensible.

I think the issue is some of these people want fame and attention. And the victims get less of that.

Thanks, but no thanks. Unless you lost your shins due to the Tojos I'm not interested in.

"not the image that pops into your head when you imagine a maniac."

I think it could be true. It doesn't have to be a portent of anything. I think there's always been cases of people who are callous and indifferent to others. Sometimes people like that aren't into being in a group, but I think that's happened too.

I kind of loved the "twist" in Genius where Kartheiser's character turned out to be practically a saint who saved Jews from the Holocaust. (And they had a thing on screen about all the good things the real man did.)
