"These days conservatives snort coke, have threesomes,"

Not in my experience. (Really 60+ million Americans are "vampires.")

Although I've never used these, I don't date, I get the sense some of these are beneficial to people like me with shall we say "non-standard bodies." That getting to know a person online first maybe, if you're honest online, gives the person time to love you for you then adjust to your appearance rather than "Bam,

It's very old. I was doing a thing on checkers champions on Wikipedia, yes seriously, and one I looked up was part of a "scandal" involving a personals dating group. He thought he got matched up with a good looking musical Anglican tennis player, his list had more than that, but it was a scam. And he was a

"through the hearts in their eyes."

I've heard that of Trump, but that seems unlikely of Pence. Pence has a JD and was a member of a conservative/libertarian think tank. (Whether I think they're related others do.) His wife has an MS in elementary education from Butler.

It seems like many, perhaps most, in this administration have a better sense of humor about themselves than Trump. I seem to recall even Spicer taking that SNL bit more in stride than Trump did.

Seems like many to most TV stations meander from their original purpose. Or maybe those two have a big LGBT following?

I think part of what I like is all this, in this series, is happening in Canada. Canada is sometimes a bit superior acting about these kinds of things so it weirdly makes it almost darker. (I know I'm very late here.)

I'm already up to this episode of this older show.

On Dark Matter the crew of the other Raza arrives and stir up trouble. Five says goodbye to someone with a friendly kiss. Ryo is still maybe unraveling a bit. Also clowns. (There are no clowns, I don't think. It's just a Tick reference.)

Show off.

I didn't think Thiel was that extreme. Weird, but not that extreme.

I do think it's a bit odd how the moderate/extreme line for many, for years, seems to be about how they view the sexual revolution.

I sometimes wanted to think it's a nice sop for people who come here, but aren't on the Left. Like a "Okay sure we have jerks too."

I think in many of those cultures divorce is discouraged, but also they may have different ideas of what marriage is or should be. I know in some traditional Asian cultures it was practically expected one, or in rare cases both, of the spouses would have a lover on the side to provide the sexual or maybe even romantic

She didn't like him or him hitting on her. Some of what you note I think was intentionally ways to say "I want a guy who is not you." (The drink order was not at the end of the date, though she was apparently serious about it and not just trying to sound so serious he should live her alone.)

Is this a line from something?

But that could just be a sign that we're creeped out by a man being lonely and vulnerable or maybe it's more we assume a man's interest in a woman he doesn't know is too mixed up with sex and control to be cute.

Yeah. Roger Ebert's praise for her, that he's the woman he should be interested in, is still weird to me. He said to a younger viewer "You'll understand when you're older" but I'm forty and still don't.
