I think he's kind of overrated, I think I always felt that, but he's definitely funnier than Maher. (Who I actually think can be funny, but is probably not one of the truly great comedians. And it seems like CK is actually a decent actor too whereas I'm not sure Maher had any success there.)

Eh, I think there at least were legitimate complaints about "PC" at times. People would give versions of African or American Indian history that were clearly false yet white people would be nervous about contradicting them. Or they would obsess on the words used rather than intention or context.

Some did the "to take away its power" thing, but I think some took it more as a "owning it as ours" kind of thing.

UNCF? Or would it having "Negro" in the acronym be awkward considering?

Yup. ZaiJian!

An apology itself may not change things, but acknowledging wrongdoing might be a step toward trying for recompense or making amends. Even prison grants the idea that a certain amount of punishment allows you to "pay your debt to society."

Yeah. I think, in part, because African Americans vote like 90% Democratic maybe it makes it look like things are more monolithic than they are. I know of older black people who just hate rap music in general or at least that's what they tell you. I saw one immigrant from Ghana or something that pretty much said she

And that's maybe enough of you for me then.

There are some different ideas on the matter and I'm not sure what ones are right.

It's fun to sing by yourself sometimes.

Although I sort-of see what you're saying the differences between religions are real and Islam isn't a local Middle Eastern religion of "brown people" but a global religion of all races.

Actually, to a large extent, I think his anti-Muslim views are consistent with his overall views of religion. (Although I think in his PI days he identified more as a deist and was sometimes more mixed on religion.) It would be inconsistent to say the Bible is fairy tale and disdain Catholicism on gender then think

I hesitated on how to phrase that. Part of why I haven't "liked him in a very long time" is his move to being more solidly on the Left.

I hadn't watched any episode of The Flash before the big Invasion crossover and now I've seen all of it. Some thoughts on ones I watched of this season include.

I haven't much liked him in a very long time and I've been pretty critical. (Granted I'm generally traditionalist/conservative compared to most here, but there are progressives I find less irritating.) I don't think "your side" really needs him as much as many of his defenders here act like.

On Dark Matter, this means war! The Blink drive changes hands. Two contemplates leadership, loss, and killing Ryo Ishida. (Also has a kind of dream kiss with the hallucination of a dead woman.) Ishida learns about Masaki's actions. He also frees a kind of political prisoner and makes him an offer. 5/Emily/Das? learns

Aww. I knew her more from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Mr. Holland's Opus, and ER I think. (I don't know theater well.) Bummer. I liked her stuff.

In fairness I think many have actually turned out fine and many of those that didn't had screwed up parents so might have had problems if they'd been piano movers. Looking through "Youth in Film/Young Artists" award winners.

Interesting. She has an unusual career path for a former child actor. She didn't think acting would be her life so went on to do other things, but then decided she really wanted to be an actress after all so went back. I didn't really watch Veep, but I'm cool with seeing her again. And the show is interesting even if

Hah!
