I'm thinking you could just have Maggie decide Alex is moving too fast with the wedding proposal, but decide she can't go back to just dating after practically being engaged. Or just ultimately panic due to it and run off. I think they've given a potential "out" that she sometimes bails or cheats if things get too

Yeah they kind of did a, "We're not entirely sure of the causes of autism so maybe time-travel alternate-history stuff made him different somehow."

This might be a spoiler, but she is mentioned in a later episode and the implication is she did not change/improve/reconcile at all. So they pretty much stuck with that.

The libertarian aspect of the GOP is part of what drove me out, but I think you might be taking it a bit too serious. Even under Reagan I believe it was more that social spending stalled or ground to a halt than that it reversed to pre-LBJ levels let alone pre-FDR ones. They're not so stupid as to think people really

It's actually not something I'd watch as Adult Swim tends to be too surreal for me. I just recall that others overlooked it too. It was more of a debate than a universal agreement.

Well, going by Munch, some thought that outside Baltimore and NYC (pretty sure NYC was on TXF) there's a weird alien conspiracy going on.

She's in more of a "Mom" role. I indicated a "Mom" role has the potential for abuse too, but olivececile does have a point that that's not Gretchen. She's trying to imitate the Reverend, but she doesn't really have the quality to be like that. (Of women in the series perhaps Deirdre could be a terrifying cult leader

Has she ever said she wasn't bi?

In fairness to her this show kind of invites that. Particularly this episode.

Joel is irritating in many ways, but I sort-of understood part of it. Adding another year does seem kind of annoying. Even if he should appreciate Cicely, which is a nice place, it isn't his home really. And he's not exactly here by choice. And though much of what he said seems a little silly it is correct being

I sort-of lost the thread of you doing this, but I did remember loving/being-surprised by Holling's speech to his daughter. This is mostly such a friendly show that to see a man tell his biological daughter "I accept you're my daughter and I want you to leave" "I feel nothing for you" was kind of surprising in a way.

"Supergirl and Riverdale tied for second place with 7 Top Picks each"

I thought several here liked that show though, at least at first. The one review is a B though and many of the commenters do note he is a convicted rapist. Still there are a few calling it "delightful", "pretty funny", and "pretty hilarious." That said some seem to have liked it for Norm McDonald.

"Jackie might seem a naive country girl, but she easily sees Sam as self absorbed and shallow."

I think I liked the later call back "a strange man in a yellow dress was found destroying hydrants and public property" as much as anything. But I finished up that show awhile back.

I'm not too surprised to see this and I guess that is an issue, though not the one you're intending.

Yeah. And maybe that no one really cares about these boys, or finds them annoying, is a view that gendered norms hurt males too. But it didn't exactly feel like that.

I think Britain actually has more accents than us. Also maybe a tradition of people learning new accents to fit into a different class or region.

Well I admit I do find him funny. I don't think they're making light of the terrible things he did, but it is true that sometimes monstrous people turn out to be kind of ridiculous. I don't think him being funny is meant to demean his victims.

That's true.
