Actually states have wildly different laws when in comes to marriage. For instance, in some states, a man cannot rape his wife. The wedding vows are perpetual consent. In West Virginia, there is a law on the books that saw a man can beat his wife on the steps of the courthouse as long as the stick is less diameter

Who said I didn't like your response? And who's trying to stop you from commenting?

And based on the reaction to the episode, I'm not the only one who thought so…

I feel like you're missing my point. Longer isn't better. In my opinion, a tightly edited 60 minute episode would have been better. It would have added to the tension. And they can spend more time developing the kingdom later.

The reason not to is it was a 90 minute episode and every time they cut away from Rick and company i just wanted to go back. It delayed negan's arrival and made me resent two of my favorite characters. I know how important the kingdom is. I just think it would have been better to focus on Lucille.

I know. I've read the comics. My point was it didn't need to be in this episode.

"Why didn’t the Saviors do all this bullshit—trapping Rick, killing someone in front of him to show they meant business—the minute they knew about Alexandria? Why the wait?"

Agreed on the potential rape storyline. I doubted that's what happened, but it made me yell at the TV for Mer to use her words…
