Now the autopsy can finally begin!
Oh, well, if Frank Miller does it, it's probably a great idea.
That's…not a plot point? I keep hearing people say that drinking Luthor's piss is a plot point somehow. Should I stop listening to everything I hear on the internet? QUICK, INTERNET, TELL ME, SHOULD I?
It's because the studio sent Snyder a note about needing to add a little levity to the franchise, and he just took his best guess.
OKAY WHAT ABOUT LEX LUTHOR'S PISS, THO? That's all I want to know.
Sure, why wouldn't she? Granting the premise that characters are people, she would've had a whole life before meeting Bond. If the change you made in her timeline was that she never *did* meet Bond, then that bit of her story would be different, but I see absolutely no reason you couldn't write a book about her, and…
Well, yeah, I think on both sides of that movie, you have people whose religious beliefs are twisted up with their tribalism. Howie can't wrap his head around Summerisle because they're so Not Like Us, but also of course all of Summerisle has in fact resorted to terrible crimes in order to preserve their autonomy. …
I think one of the ways in which Objectivism (not single-handedly, but it's a big player) has infected and damaged our culture is that on all sides we almost take for granted now that this is a commonplace or even necessary dichotomy. Are you going to become a better person by helping others and making a positive…
Yeah, it seemed like there was a lot of love for Children of Earth among people who'd never seen Torchwood before, but oddly I didn't really enjoy watching everything I liked about the show burned to the ground for DRAMA.
It should've been a real breakout role for Robin Sparkles. I wonder whatever happened to her?
Jadzia Dax was definitely a female-bodied but gender-nonbinary character. Before it was cool!
I'm not convinced she wasn't meant to be fully a lesbian. The dudes kind of pry around trying to figure out if she is or not, and she basically just says none of your goddamn business. I don't know that we ever see her do or say anything that feels like "evidence" of her being into dudes sexually.
I guess you can take the girl out of the dystopic totalitarian regime, but you can't take the dystopic totalitarian regime out of the girl!
DONE. Hey, that was easy!
For no man.
Dark Crystal is extraordinary. JHStudios had a huge hand in that, of course, but Brian Froud's artwork really elevates it way, way past its contemporaries in the eccentric fantasy/proto-dark fairy tale genre — your Legends and Labyrinthses. The story is solid, if a little slow by today's standards, but goddamn, the…
People misunderstand this all the time. "Whatever pride" doesn't mean "Yay, it's a HUGE accomplishment to be whatever, GO ME!" It's not a positive kind of pride in that sense — it means pride *as in the opposite of shame.* It means, "Yeah, you want me to be ashamed of being whatever, but *I flatly refuse.*"
Also Kingdom Come, on my shortlist of most-human portrayals of superhumans. Just needed to wave my little flag for Kingdom Come, carry on now.
OH GOD YOU'VE SUMMONED MANIMAL. You have to throw salt over your shoulder *three times* after saying "Jessica Jones" on the internet, or none of us are safe!!!
