I agree with most of the comments here, this was an A to B grade in my opinion. There were two very touching scenes where I expected and dreaded conflict and was rewarded with none. Completely agree, and made the same comment elsewhere in the thread. What's ironic is that it takes someone ignorant of what you're describing (a male) to have this outrage on behalf of Robyn (the same ignorance that Bateman's character displays!)

Good questions. I can't confirm that he was wearing brown contacts; assuming that's true, I think there was either something really subtle going on that I don't understand, or perhaps this was meant to be something that was never finished plot-wise and so stayed in the film as a kind of half-finished aspect.

Watching it with headphones on, the scene that begins with her packing a box with packing tape was really loud and given the tenseness of the previous scene was, I think, meant to be a jump scare. Cheap but surprisingly effective on me because I can't time and thus anticipate them!

Although I'm conflicted about the "robbing her of agency" discussion in this thread, I agree with the rest of your points. Re: the possible plot hole, I actually think that's the clearest indication that Gordo did not rape her—and the fact that Simon doesn't think about that issue himself shows how self-absorbed he
