Why would Ghostbusters be scary?

I don't know if it's still going to happen, but at one point the idea was to spin all super powered beings off of Supes in the post Man of Steel universe. Ex: Wonder Woman is actually a Kryptonian descendant.

It just sounds so goofy. There's no mythology that Ghostbusters needs to be tied to. There are literally hundreds of thousands of ideas for ghosts, so let's make sure we only talk about Gozer.
