    Sharkna-na-na-na-na-do: The Musical

Heart cancer?! Jesus, that sounds awful.

I've seen one or two episodes of this and as far as I can tell, it does actually fall pretty firmly in line with modern kids' programming like Pixar, Phineas & Ferb etc., that is to say family-friendly but with several subversive elements and side jokes kids wouldn't get.

It's not scary, but wonderfully atmospheric in an old-fashioned way and with a terrific lead performance.

The category wasn't introduced until 2002.

    Möglicherweise…

A problem I have is that season 4 is the last time I find Rachel's interest in Ross believable. The whole storyline with her realizing she loves him as he's getting married is very well done (and wonderfully played by Aniston). But afterwards she first gets over him way too quickly, and then both characters evolve (in

Rudd's performance is really the best thing about the Mike character. His natural charm helps to cover up the "oops, guess we treated Phoebe like the fifth wheel all the time and the show is winding up, so let's just throw her with this random bland guy" feeling of the storyline a little.

I agree. Until the end of season 4 it's a naturally progressing story arc. Then season 5 comes around and the storyline is swiftly dropped only to be brought back for cynical cliffhanger stunts every year.

There's really no excuse for the Minsk-Russia thing.

I always liked David. Although he appears so few times, the relationship between him and Phoebe really feels like something special to me. Unfortunately her later relationship with Paul Rudd just felt generic, and that was the one we were supposed to root for. Meh.

German. It's spoken in a small part in the East in a territory annexed after WWI.

Nice to see Octavia Spencer with a meaty role again. It's looking like she's the rare case of an actress really benefitting from her Oscar win, especially considering she was still playing unnamed bit roles right up until she did the film she won for.

Yeah, this feature is just terrible either way.

A post from Jaime Weinman on sitcom sets that you might enjoy:

I have a feeling MITM TV Club Classic wouldn't last beyond the first two seasons, but that would be okay since those are the best by a huge margin (in fact, the second season was already much weaker than the first… actually the show pretty much peaked with the pilot. Still good though)

Bad films just aren't fun if the people involved are in on the joke.

I highly recommend them, they are wonderful.

The good thing about this is, it made us all forget about The Lone Ranger for a while.
